Bright, pale greenish-yellow. Aromas of lemon and crushed rock. Densely packed and sharply chiseled, with outstanding lift to the citrus, mint and powdered stone flavors. This utterly uncompromising wine offers a powerful sensation of terroir but is impossible to drink right now. Finishes extremely long, dry and pure, with superb stony lift. A great and eminently ageworthy premier cru.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: July/August 2012Wine Advocate | Rating: 94
The 2010 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre is another of the more delicate, refined premier crus at Fevre. Despite its initial ethereal opening, the wine boasts serious density and richness just waiting to emerge over time. The 2010 is a wine that impresses for its length, vibrancy and sheer persistence. This is very much a less immediate style, but there is a hidden intensity that I suspect will more fully emerge over the next few years. The 2010 Montee de Tonnerre is a wine of true pleasure. Anticipated maturity: 2013+.Author: Antonio Galloni
The Fevre family has been an integral part of the Chablis landscape for upwards of 250 years. Since the beginning, though, they have been adamant about protecting and promoting the typicity of Chablis, whose whites draw a unique and well-defined line in the sand when it comes to mineral-laden French Chardonnay. The grand crus from this estate represent the pinnacle of purity and intensity of world-class Chardonnay from France and are characterized by superb delineations of acidity, mineral, crystalline fruit and delicate floral nuance.
