Dried rose petals, sweet red berries, flowers, mint and licorice are all woven together in the 2010 Pinot Noir Savoy. A wine of gorgeous silkiness and finesse, the Savoy stands in stark contrast to the Dierke. The former is more elegant, while the latter is decidedly wild and unrestrained. All the elements come together beautifully in the glass. A rich, voluptuous finish rounds out this striking, layered Pinot from Anderson Valley. The 2010 Savoy is another drop-dead gorgeous wine from Radio-Coteau. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022.

Bright ruby. Intensely perfumed nose offers fresh raspberry, cherry, rose and Asian spices, along with a suave, smoky mineral underpinning. The red fruits repeat on the palate, picking up floral and spicecake elements with air. Impressively pure pinot with excellent finishing sweetness, focus and persistence.

Presents a tight beam of blueberry and sour cherry, with crushed rock and dried herb notes. Tightly wound and gaining on the finish.

Good acidity and fruit but I find the tannin is too much at this point, a little too chewy. It's fine and supple, however there is too much of it compared to how much more elegant the rest of the wine is. Taste is a 93, texture is an 84.

Pure, refined.cashmere mouthfeel. Red fruit, touch of spice. Vibrant acidity anchored by silky tannins. Would like to retry in 7 or 8 years.

Radio Coteau works exclusively with small, cool-climate vineyard sites in western Sonoma County. Winegrower Eric Sussman's first vintage at the helm was 2001, after spending the years prior gaining experience with organic winegrowing in Washington and French winemaking in Bordeaux and Burgundy. Learning from the masters at the Chateaux Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1995 and Domaines Comte Armand and Jacques Prieur in 1996, Eric returned stateside with a strong commitment to producing wines with a true "sense of place." The winery crafts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Zinfandel, primarily from designated sites.
