2010 Patz & Hall Pinot Noir Moses-Hall Vineyard
UNITED STATES / CALIFORNIA / CARNEROS
Wine Spectator | Rating: 95
A gorgeous Pinot, rich and layered, with a smooth tapestry of dark berry flavors and fresh, loamy earth. The mix of raspberry, blackberry and wild berry is juicy and graceful, ending with a lingering finish.Drink Dates: 2013-2024Author: James LaubeInternational Wine Cellar | Rating: 90
Good full medium red. Plum and strawberry aromas complicated by cinnamon stick and loam. Fat and sweet in the context of the year (this is a warm site), with red fruit and cinnamon flavors perked up by a note of pomegranate. A supple, round style of pinot with a broad finish, serious tannins and moderate grip.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: May/June 2012
Since 1988, Patz & Hall has set a standard for Chardonnays and Pinots that epitomize poise and finesse. The winery is a partnership of four individuals - Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moss and Heather Patz - all of whom are veterans in the production of fine wine. Between them, they have made wine at Flora Springs, Honig Cellars, Far Niente, Marimar Torres, Spring Mountain and Cain Vineyard. They source from regions ranging from the Santa Lucia Highlands to Mendocino, and prime areas in between. The wines skillfully maintain the intricate and graceful dance between substance and balance, power and elegance - the key characteristics of world-class Pinot Noir.
