The dense purple-colored 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain offers beautiful blueberry, black raspberry and floral aromas, full body, and a pure, textured style. The tannins are melted and well-integrated It is a terrific example of a Howell Mountain Cabernet that should drink well for 12-15 years.

(15.5% alcohol; 75% new oak): Good medium ruby. Cassis and a meaty suggestion of flank steak on the nose. Rich and sweet if a bit youthfully aggressive today and less open than the Diamond Mountain and Stags Leap cabernet. This will need time in bottle to develop more nuance and communicate its soil character. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and a note of menthol. I'd come back to this one in three or four years.

Smooth, rich and creamy-textured, with a mix of mocha, currant, dark berry and espresso flavors that are tightly focused, gliding along on the long, persistent finish.
