A wonderfully spicy and agreeably fresh nose of black pinot fruit that is liberally laced with a panoply of spice hints. There is very good punch and tension to the textured and overtly velvety flavors that possess an abundance of mouth coating dry extract, all wrapped in a robust, powerful and driving finish. The tannins are notably firm and stop just short of being chewy and as such, this will require 10 to 12 years to arrive at its peak.Author: Allen MeadowsInternational Wine Cellar | Rating: 94
Bright dark red. Precise, perfumed nose offers red berries, licorice, loam and a peppery nuance. Supple, juicy and highly aromatic in the mouth, with smooth berry and earth flavors enlivened by exotic spices. I love the sugar/acid balance here. Really wonderfully tactile, classy and long, finishing with noble tannins and lingering perfume. And more elegant than the 2011 version.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: March/April 2013Wine Advocate | Rating: 95
The 2010 Echezeaux is all class and elegance. Freshly cut flowers, red berries, tobacco and incense are some of the notes that waft from the glass in this gorgeous, feminine Burgundy. Most of Forey's 2010s are about power, but the Echezeaux speaks of finesseAuthor: Antonio Galloni
