(from volcanic ash soil with clay and loam; owner Don Stephens's wife Trish is nicknamed Moose): Deep, bright red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha, graphite and dark chocolate. Sweet on entry, then full and seamless in the middle, with mouthcoating dark fruit flavors. Finishes with serious horizontal tannins and a note of bitter chocolate. Rather affable for a hillside wine.

Provides a rich, powerful array of dark berry, dried herb, cedar, spice, currant and melted black licorice notes. The hand-over-fist mix of chewy flavors is refined and graceful, teasing and tempting now. A good bet to gain.
