Sleek and polished, this is lively with raspberry and cherry flavors, persisting impressively on the finish with delicacy. This has depth and enough tannins to want cellaring for best results.

The |disappearing tannins| observed in some 2010s here and elsewhere are not part of the picture in Bergstrom's 2010 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard. That's not to suggest that the phenolics here are obstreperous, but they are every evident. Lightly-cooked dark cherry and plum are tinged with dark chocolate and tactilely present brown spice and black pepper, while meaty and soy-like savor mouthwateringly underlie the wine's sweet finishing fruit. This is one for the cellar and likely to remain impressive for at least a dozen years.

Vivid ruby. Sexy, oak-spiced aromas of black raspberry, cherry and cola, with smoke and Asian spice accents building with air. Sappy and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering intense red and dark berry preserve flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Shows sneaky power on the smoky finish, leaving spice, vanilla and candied lavender notes behind. Give this youthful wine at least another couple years of bottle age.
