2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Bougros Côte de Bouguerots Grand Cru

This is a big step up in refinement, particularly aromatically with an abundance of oyster shell and tidal pool nuances that add breadth to the white flower, citrus and Chablis-style green fruit. The rich, powerful and mouth coating flavors possess real drive but also beautiful detail on the intensely mineral-driven finish that possesses outstanding length. This is really quite dry, at least within the context of the 2009 vintage. In a word, terrific.Author: Allen MeadowsInternational Wine Cellar | Rating: 91
Very pale green-tinged yellow. Aromatically exuberant nose projects lime oil, white pepper and white flowers. Unctuous and sweet, with good citrus energy but less dimension than I usually find in this cuvee--and less complex than the 2010 version. A rather powerful vin de plaisir that comes across as a tad phenolic today. The 2009 vintage may not have been ideal for this full south-facing parcel.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: July/August 2011

The Fevre family has been an integral part of the Chablis landscape for upwards of 250 years. Since the beginning, though, they have been adamant about protecting and promoting the typicity of Chablis, whose whites draw a unique and well-defined line in the sand when it comes to mineral-laden French Chardonnay. The grand crus from this estate represent the pinnacle of purity and intensity of world-class Chardonnay from France and are characterized by superb delineations of acidity, mineral, crystalline fruit and delicate floral nuance.
