Saturated ruby. Complex and pure on the nose, with aromas of raspberry, yellow rose, pepper and lively blood orange. Suave and energetic, with sweet red fruit and floral flavors given spine by a dusty mineral element. Firmly built but by no means austere, finishing with excellent persistence and a lingering note of blood orange. This should reward at least a few years of bottle aging.

This intense red displays firm, ripe wild berry and blackberry fruit, with a note of mineral and hints of roasted coffee, cola and mocha. Medium- to full-bodied, this is drying and a touch herbal on the finish, where the tannins clamp down. Best from 2012 through 2020. 227 cases made.

  • The Fritz family founded Lynmar Winery in 1990 to produce world-class wines reflecting the character of the estate Quail Hill Vineyard and the Russian River Valley appellation. Quail Hill is a unique site in the region and is the exclusive source for the Reserve and Estate wines, as well as the foundation for the appellation-designated wines. The vineyard possesses superb qualities for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The combination of the vineyard's soil composition, long growing season, dramatic elevation changes, and clone and rootstock selections make it a prime location for growing these varieties.

The character of the estate vineyard guides the signature Lynmar style for all of the wines; red wines with rich, full, deep, ripe berry flavors with natural acids and soft tannins, and white wines with balance, composition, and expressiveness.
