  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 90

Light yellow. Musky aromas of pear skin, ginger, smoke and spices, with intense mineral and lemon zest nuances adding complexity. Broad and chewy but vibrant as well, offering intense citrus, pear skin and candied ginger flavors. Silky and precise on the lively, very long finish. This comes in at a bracing 10.1 g/l of acidity, by the way.

Still green and raw, with green apple, pithy citrus and citrus blossom scents. Medium- to full-bodied, with a leesy edge that should become fleshier with time.

The Fritz family founded Lynmar Winery in 1990 to produce world-class wines reflecting the character of the estate Quail Hill Vineyard and the Russian River Valley appellation. Quail Hill is a unique site in the region and is the exclusive source for the Reserve and Estate wines, as well as the foundation for the appellation-designated wines. The vineyard possesses superb qualities for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The combination of the vineyard's soil composition, long growing season, dramatic elevation changes, and clone and rootstock selections make it a prime location for growing these varieties.

The character of the estate vineyard guides the signature Lynmar style for all of the wines; red wines with rich, full, deep, ripe berry flavors with natural acids and soft tannins, and white wines with balance, composition, and expressiveness.
