  • Wine Spectator | Rating: 93

A rich white, evoking peach, ripe apple, honey and spice flavors. Well-toned, seamless and multidimensional, with a lingering finish of spices.

  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 93

Bright medium yellow. Pungent aromas of citrus fruits, white peach and crushed stone. Sweet but with a light touch to its peach and lime flavors. Bright acidity gives this tightly wound wine lovely balance. Finishes chewy and dry, with considerable elegance. Shows the cru more than the vintage.

Nervy and exciting. Hints of excitement to come and some biodynamic wildness but still fragile. Lemon and weight and still pretty brutally embryonic - the Grand Cru version of the Puligny village wine. Lots of weight but still pretty crude. Very good wild-flower finish.

  • Wine Advocate | Rating: 94

The 2009 Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet is dazzling from start to finish. Silky and seamless at first, the wine impresses for its impeccable balance and tons of class. Chalky, mineral notes appear later, adding length, freshness and verve, while floral notes add the last flourishes of elegance. This is all silk and cashmere, especially on the finish. The Bienvenues seems to hover on the palate, inhabiting in the stratosphere reserved for just a handful of the world's truly great wines.

  • "If the blessed slopes of the Cote d'Or are home to the ultimate expression of Chardonnay, then Anne-Claude Leflaive could be regarded as the magician, some might use the word "shaman", who can conjure wine like no other from this propitious terroir." - Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
