2009 Domaine Frédéric Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques 1er Cru

Good deep, dark red. Cassis, crushed blackberry, dried flowers and a whiff of espresso on the nose. Juicy, dry and soil-driven, with excellent intensity and lovely delicacy of texture. Subdued flavors of dark fruits, licorice and dark chocolate will need time to express themselves. This rich but slowly evolving wine finishes with fine tannins and noteworthy persistence.
