($125; a selection of the best barrels) Golden yellow. Stone and citrus fruit aromas are complemented by floral oils, hazelnut and coconut. Sweet and seamless, with captivating minerality giving shape and lift to the chewy peach and nutmeg flavors. Wonderfully harmonious, large-scaled chardonnay, finishing with impressive length and sweetness of fruit and subtle mineral and smoky nuances. This is likely to age the longest of this trio of chardonnays. The selection of the best barrels (two of four were Louis Latour barriques) means that this wine is |beyond terroir,| notes Morlet.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: May/June 2010Wine Advocate | Rating: 98
Extraordinary intensity, richness, nuance, complexity and power characterize the 2008 Chardonnay Coup de Coeur. There are only 100 cases of this beautiful white that possesses lots of honeyed citrus, tropical fruit, crushed rock and white flower-like characteristics. This beautifully made, undeniably profound Chardonnay should drink nicely for a decade or more.Drink Dates: 2011-2021Author: Robert Parker
