Bright medium red. Lovely pinot-like nose combines strawberry, raspberry and minerals, with a touch of reduction. Urgent red fruit flavors boast superb energy and thrust. More concentrated than the Parafada, and showing outstanding lift. Finishes very long and scented, with a fresh minty nuance. An outstanding young 2008.

The 2008 Barolo Margheria shows the muscle and depth of Serralunga. Layers of dark red fruit, spices, menthol and licorice flow from this textured, deep Barolo. The style remains understated in the spirit of the 2008s here, but with a little more of the richness typical of Serralunga.

This is chock full of tobacco, underbrush and menthol notes, but also strawberry and raspberry flavors. Trim and racy in character, with muscular tannins. A traditional Barolo that needs time or a lot of air to show its best.
