  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 93

Good bright medium red. Musky red fruits and blood orange on the nose. Denser than the village wine, but with its volume leavened by terrific sappy cut. There's a silkiness here but also a citrus zest edge to the red fruit flavors. Comes across as sweeter and more approachable today than the village wine, and longer and more pliant on the aftertaste.

Very bright fruit with an animal hint on the nose. Very round and assertive. Lots of juice and fruit with no shortage of acidity. Still very embryonic. Fine tannins. Very bright and tight with a mineral finish. Certainly not seductive at this stage. Needs lots and lots of time. Very chewy finish but the tannins are precise rather than overly dry or drying. Bright, electric.

  • Comte de Vogue is often considered the greatest wine estate in Chambolle-Musigny. It traces its history back to 1450 and amazingly, after 20 generations, the same family still runs the show. The domaine owns 7.25 hectares of the Le Musigny vineyard; these average 40 years old and are labeled Vieilles Vignes. The property also includes smaller holdings of Bonnes-Mares and Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny. The blending of tradition and modernity in winemaking has resulted in wines that are revered by critics and wine lovers around the world.
