($110; a blend of 50% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 20% sangiovese; aged in all-new barriques; 36.7 g/l dry extract; 14.5% alcohol) Inky ruby. Aromas of cassis, cedar and graphite reminded me of cabernet sauvignon and little else. Enters the mouth very pure, displaying wonderfully textured red cherry, blackcurrant and smoky black plum flavors complicated by coffee and cocoa nuances. Finishes very smooth and long, with plenty of fruit to support its acids and firm tannins. Well done. (Kobrand Inc., New York NY)Author: Ian D'AgataIssue: July/August 2010Wine Spectator | Rating: 95
Subtle and classy on the nose, with flowers, blueberry, dried cherry and currant. Full-bodied and very polished, with refined tannins, pretty fruit and a light vanilla and coffee aftertaste. Builds on the palate. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese.Author: James SucklingWine Advocate | Rating: 92
The 2007 Oreno (50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot) is a silky, perfumed wine endowed with gorgeous layers of fruit that flow with notable weight and richness. This is an especially harmonious, seamless Oreno that is all class. The 100% new oak is felt slightly on the finish, but the wine should find an even better balance with some bottle age. This is a lovely effort.Author: Antonio Galloni

Always one of my favorites, this one was very goodAuthor: Jeffrey M989Self | Rating: 94
I think I opened this too early. Decanted and drank for two days. Beautiful color and perfume, the delivery was slightly stale at first and one dimensional bit a big backbone. tannic for sure and it will benefit from a few more years in the cellar.Author: cloudonSelf | Rating: 96
I was utterly blown away by the Oreno - indeed a Super Tuscan that was as good as billed, no, better. Cab, Merlot, Sangiovese, this moves a bit away from the blueberry fruits toward dried cherry as compared to the toro, but this was apt for that olive oil brushed steak or, in this case, roast lamb with garlic. Impeccably smooth, rich, delicious, I couldn't put my glass down. Again, opening it and vacuvin'ing it for several days probably did good to slowly let the air in. I can't say enough good things!Drink Dates: 2013-2028Author: RossbossSelf | Rating: 93
