($55) Medium straw-yellow. Captivating nose combines high-pitched orange blossom and minerals with brown spices and nutty, smoky, vanillin oak. Broad, tactile and rich, with good spicy/floral lift and firm minerality giving energy to the wine. This really saturates the palate, finishing long, subtle and spicy.

Intense and snappy, featuring firm, vibrant, pear, melon, spice and hazelnut notes that are full-bodied and tightly wound, ending with a dash of marshmallow. This is still a touch coarse, so it's best to rest this one a few months. 2,103 cases made.

More orange marmalade, pineapple, honeysuckle, and candied fruit aromas jump from the glass of the deep, full-bodied, elegant, mineral-laced 2007 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard. The wood is pushed well to the background in this layered, well-textured offering. It should drink well for 5-6 years.

Dark gold color. Fruit was fading a bit. Complex but not that pleasant. Not as good as I hoped but solid

Mature, evolved, complex and depth...showing minerality and sweetness too. Little tart finish but very enjoyable and very classic to the house style. Enjoy now

Yellow and very refllective. Aroma of either honey suckle or orange blossom. Medium minus body on the palate. Good crisp acidity. Citrus leads with some lanoline waxiness left behind. Nice long gradual finish. Would certainly drink this again.

Since 1988, Patz & Hall has set a standard for Chardonnays and Pinots that epitomize poise and finesse. The winery is a partnership of four individuals - Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moss and Heather Patz - all of whom are veterans in the production of fine wine. Between them, they have made wine at Flora Springs, Honig Cellars, Far Niente, Marimar Torres, Spring Mountain and Cain Vineyard. They source from regions ranging from the Santa Lucia Highlands to Mendocino, and prime areas in between. The wines skillfully maintain the intricate and graceful dance between substance and balance, power and elegance - the key characteristics of world-class Pinot Noir.
