Drank on my birthday with my wife at Maude's for dinner. Not much has changed in a year. This still has great Napa Cab flavors right out of the bottle. Just enough structure to keep if from being over the top. The fruit fell away after 1.5 hours to reveal more acidity, which was nice. My wife loves this style of wine. It's not for the wine geek, but rather elegant and enjoyable.

Drinking nicely and I wish I would have waited on. We enjoyed this medium/ full bodied wine with prominent tannins. Notes of dark fruit and bitter sweet chocolate, pencil lead shavings, nice structure and a smooth finish.

Excellent but still needs time. Superb balance.

Possibly the nicest cab that I have had at this price point. Robust flavors of cherry, dark chocolate, and espresso. Big sweet tanins structure the long smooth finish. Excellent!

Very nice. Blue fruits, bright acidity, long finish. Smooth silky texture with some tannins beginning to grip on the finish after the bottle was open for 2.5 hours.

Beginning with the 2000 vintage, Lisa Drinkward and Francoise Peschon, friends and mothers, began creating what was soon to become a major classic in the annals of Napa Valley startups. Both partners came in with excellent credentials - Drinkward, viticulturist at Behrens & Hitchcock (now known as Erna Schein), and Peschon, winemaker at Araujo (she recently transitioned to a consultant position there). Sourcing their fruit from small family-owned vineyards in Calistoga and producing no more than 500 cases, the pair dispels the myth that you need a sophisticated marketing plan and a fancy tasting room to compete in Napa Valley. If anything, their model is emulated more and more. Critics have been following it for a few years and there never seems to be enough to go around.
