This wine was a bit disappointing. It has good blackberry flavors but just a medium body. It rallies with a long finish, but it is just too thin for me.Author: Litig8tr
Following the winemaking traditions of Bordeaux has allowed Cadence to translate the Red Mountain appellation grapes they source into serious single vineyard wines. Both the "Ciel du Cheval" and "Tapteil" productions have structured balance of fruit, acidity and weight that promise initial satisfaction (decanted, of course) and cellar placement. The "Ciel du Cheval" is 39% Cabernet Franc, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot. The "Tapteil" is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc. Both burst with the mineral-laced black fruit and tobacco/cedar spice that is coming to define Washington State's Red Mountain AVA.
