Fabulous aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate and flowers follow through to a full-bodied palate, with supersilky tannins and amazing richness and subtlety. Goes on for minutes on the palate. 2,345 cases made.

The estateƒA?A?s 2006 Chianti Classico Riserva is a rich sensual wine bursting with sour dark cherries, French oak, new leather and flowers. As it sits in the glass the wineƒA?A?s inner perfume emerges with even greater clarity, melding beautifully into the soft, creamy finish. This is a terrific effort from Viticcio.

A deep hefty chianti with lush sour cherry flavors framed by lots of spice and vanilla. Still very tannic - but enjoyable now. One of the best Chianti only surpassed by Brolio and di Ama.

The rolling hills of Tuscany are home to ancient vines that grew wild long before modern times. Sangiovese is the variety of the region's best-known wines, Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti. In recent years, “Super Tuscans"—blends including non-native Bordeaux varieties—have gained in popularity and acclaim. The region's Mediterranean climate, with its warmer average temperatures, provides ideal conditions for the development of rich, structured, and age-worthy wines.
