Shows loads of black licorice, blackberry and toasty oak. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a long, long finish. Has wonderful concentration and balance. Structured. The best Oreno ever. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese.

The 2006 Oreno (50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot) combines elements of ripeness and firm, vibrant structure in a beautifully-balanced, gorgeous wine. Tar, smoke, licorice, new leather and menthol notes emerge, adding layers of expressiveness to the dark fruit. This is a powerful Oreno made in a less immediate style than the 2007. With time, though, the wine's inner sweetness comes through, suggesting that this wine has a very bright future.
No notes, but second favorite at our Tuscan tasting. Very good.

this is a super Super Tuscan. with a firm vibrant structure, it shows tar, licorice, leather and menthol on top of a ton of dark fruit--all perfectly balanced with underlying tannins that are mellow enough to drink now and continue to develop for years. very expressive with a huge finish.

This wine still needs time to open up. At least two hours. Then it has fig and fruitcake with full body and smooth tannins.

Was really looking forward to this especially after having the 2007 in Spring of 2015. This wine unfolds gracefully after opening and is very much the classic super tuscan profile with Sangiovese dominating giving it some sour cherry and herbs with oak providing roundness and structure. Licorice and currants come from the french grapes - powerful but not powerful like the Clio or Herman Story, but definitely the most elegant of all the wines, and extremely classy. Absolutely 'less immediate' than the 2007 but only because it has the structure to evolve - after recorking overnight and opening again the following evening, some sweetness, almost balsamic-like comes through. Tannins still grip this plenty but never prevented it from being enjoyed.
