($138; bottled one week prior to my visit) Full medium yellow. Ripe yellow peach on the subdued nose. Fat and rich but quite dry, with a strong spice character currently dominating the wine's fruit. Powerful but a bit lacking in precision. Finishes with a suggestion of warmth. This will probably be best for relatively early drinking.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: September/October 2008Jancis Robinson | Rating: 18
ÿHerbily scented with a hint of spring flowers and oil. Massive concentration. Really exciting already yet with lots more still to give. Anyone who bought this should be very pleased with themselves. One of the most difficult wines to spit of the entire 2006 tasting. Very long.Author: Jancis RobinsonBurghound | Rating: 91
Here too there is very subtle wood highlighting an airy, ripe and expressive nose featuring orchard fruit and citrus blossom aromas and continues onto the detailed, punchy and admirably vibrant medium-bodied flavors that finish with moderate dryness and very good length. Again, fine quality here but not up to that of the 2005.Author: Allen MeadowsIssue: 3rd Quarter, 2008Wine Spectator | Rating: 91
Reminiscent of Chevalier-Montrachet for its creamy texture and lime blossom and hazelnut aromas and flavors. This is delicate, with a refined, lively structure, excellent balance and a lingering aftertaste. 344 cases imported.Author: Bruce Sanderson
"If the blessed slopes of the Cote d'Or are home to the ultimate expression of Chardonnay, then Anne-Claude Leflaive could be regarded as the magician, some might use the word "shaman", who can conjure wine like no other from this propitious terroir." - Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
