($99; tasted from cuve just prior to being bottled) Very ripe aromas of stone fruits, nuts and clove. Fat, ripe and sweet; quite full for this cuvee Conveys a soft impression but there's no shortage of acidity. Still, this finishes a bit exotic, even warm, after the 2007s.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: September/October 2008Burghound | Rating: 89
A gentle background touch of oak spice adds nuance to the overtly exotic but fresh aromas of white peach, apricot and perfumed floral that introduce nicely rich and refined middle weight flavors underpinned by subtle mineral notes and a punchy, naturally sweet and persistent finish. A very good rather than truly distinguished effort for its level.Author: Allen MeadowsIssue: 3rd Quarter, 2009Wine Spectator | Rating: 89
A ripe, opulent style, sporting apricot, butterscotch and spice flavors on an open-knit frame. This falls off a little on the finish, but otherwise it's outstanding.Author: Bruce SandersonJancis Robinson | Rating: 17
Very pale. Lightly smoky. Savoury. Very fresh and dense. With some lemon oil notes. Long. Reverberant. Pretty good! Lots of life here.Author: Jancis Robinson
"If the blessed slopes of the Cote d'Or are home to the ultimate expression of Chardonnay, then Anne-Claude Leflaive could be regarded as the magician, some might use the word "shaman", who can conjure wine like no other from this propitious terroir." - Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
