Compared to the expressiveness of many of the prior wines, this is really quite reserved with pure, refined and naturally spicy red and dark berry pinot fruit that dissolves into round, generous and sweet flavors that, at least presently, lack the same depth as the best here and the finish doesn't have the focus that it usually does either. Perhaps I caught this at an awkward moment but the underlying material simply isn't what I'm used to seeing relative to the exceptionally high quality this wine typically delivers.

More transparent than most. Quite evolved and a little soupy on the nose. Very sweet start. A little muddy and simple and sweet. Chewy tannins on the finish. Sinewy. Dangerously evolved. They bottled their wines very early.

Palish red. Musky aromas of raspberry, smoke and game. Supple and round but missing the normal treble notes of this cru. Showing more earth today than bright fruits and flowers. Could use more clarity and lift. Finishes with dusty tannins.

light pinot. Nose offers classic chambolle creamy ripe fruit. Juicy and jammy. Palate is wonderfully juicy and transparent, showing it's true terroir. Bright red creamy fruit, underlined with gorgeously integrated earth and wood. A slight herbal quality on the long finish, but am sure this will round out with age. I would drink this within the next 5 years. A great example of terroir. Not a monster from this classic wine, but a true example of the land.
