2006 J. Rochioli Pinot Noir Estate
UNITED STATES / CALIFORNIA / SONOMA

($48) Bright red. Vibrant red berry aromas are complicated by baking spices and minerals, picking up fresh rose with air. Sweet black raspberry and candied cherry flavors offer very good purity and focus, with silky tannins adding grip to the finish. A distinctly fresh and lively style of pinot that is completely fat-free.Author: Josh RaynoldsIssue: May/June 2008Wine Spectator | Rating: 92
A fragrant, delicate style, with pretty plum, black cherry and wild berry scents that are both rich and elegant. This is sharply focused and displays excellent balance, with a long, persistent finish that reveals extra measures of depth.Author: James LaubeBurghound | Rating: 90
Interestingly, this is the most elegant wine of this group with a spicy, airy and pure red pinot fruit nose that leads to rich, full and finely detailed medium-bodied flavors that are at present a bit awkward, especially on the finish yet the underlying elements are clearly here to allow this to come together successfully. Promising.Author: Allen MeadowsIssue: 4th Quarter, 2008Wine Advocate | Rating: 91
The medium ruby-hued 2006 Pinot Noir Estate possesses soft, strawberry and kirsch-like aromas, abundant sweet berry fruit on the palate, good acidity, and a soft, round style meant to be consumed over the next several years.Author: Robert Parker

Awesome wine - wish I had a boatload of it! It comes with a bushel of cherries and strawberries with a helping of french toast. Emphasis on the nutmeg and cinnamon... Kinda dry in the mouth but really elegant. I consistently love the weight and and mouth of Rochioli's pinots. I got a bunch of cranberrie and caramel tones as well on the mouth. Great stuff!Drink Dates: 2010-2012Author: nothoiSelf | Rating: 91

With three generations of dedication to the land, Rochioli Vineyards and Winery has earned the reputation as one of Sonoma County's finest. This family legacy began in 1938, when Joe Rochioli Sr. purchased land he had long farmed. He had the foresight to know that the soil of the Russian River Valley would one day produce some of the world's greatest wines. His son Joe Jr. embraced this vision and today craft renowned, terrior-driven wines built on a foundation of superb fruit.
The result has been a decades-long tradition of outstanding vintages: Silky-smooth, fruit-forward Pinot Noirs; rich, opulent Chardonnays; and tangy, food-friendly Sauvignon Blancs.
