An ever so slightly riper nose offers up pretty and lightly spiced red berry and floral aromas that also carry just a hint of crushed herb to them that transfer over to the detailed, supple and forward medium-bodied flavors that deliver a bit more depth though not the same finishing vigor. This is riper and more complex but does not have the same energy and the sense of finishing warmth is slightly more evident. The wines are qualitatively similar though possess quite different personalities.

Shows fantastic depth and focus, with aromatic trufflelike earth notes that highlight the pure raspberry, floral, cherry, herb and spice notes. This has a supple texture, juicy acidity and an intense finish that sails on and on.

Pale red with clear pink rim. I'm really surprised, as I expected more from this wine, and I wonder if this bottle isn't the best example. Seems quite simple, albeit pure, with lots of sweet raspberry but very little else. Just very fruit-dominated (at least at this stage) with nothing discernible to show for secondary flavors (maybe some Asian spice, but maybe I'm just hoping.) If this were $20-25, I might be more inclined to try it again, but at $60+, the QPR is not very good. I hope to be proven wrong with future bottles (on someone else's dime.)
