The 2006 Eloge's dark plum/ruby color is followed by a sweet kiss of plum, black cherry, earth, licorice, and spice box, a medium to full-bodied wine, abundant tannin, and impressive concentration, purity, and overall complexity. Reasonably evolved, and extremely seductive aromatically, with a slightly structured finish, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 15 years. It is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Merlot.

Dark and inky, with notes of black currants, coffee beans and a hint of licorice. Full bodied. What holds this wine back a bit is too much oak.

stunning blend from Conn Valley. the 2006 was nicely aged and showed well. Dark purple fruit with good acidity and balance. Went down too smooth and with a nice long finish. Good stuff.

This was a fantastic bottle of wine. Probably in the top 5 we've consumed this year. Decanted for about 2 hours and it really opened up around 3. Purple in color. Medium rim variation. Slow legs. Blackberry, Black currant (cassis), Forest floor, Dust, Smokey. Medium/Full bodied. Polished texture. Long finish.

Very good...certainly a great Cab blend from CVV...maybe a little over-priced but that is to be expected. An excellent 92.

Nestled deep in Conn Valley, east of St. Helena and the Meadowood Resort, Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyard remains an impressive, if not sometimes forgotten, source of very complex and potentially age worthy wines in Napa Valley. The vineyard produces beautifully rich, blackcurrant-flavored wines that have demonstrated stunning purity of flavor and aging potential while portraying a union of flamboyant Californian ripeness and Bordelais elegance and nuance.

Todd Anderson and winemaker Mac Sawyer initially put themselves on the map with their long-lived, estate Cabernet, but have expanded their repertoire to include Bordeaux tributes "Right Bank Cuvee" and Robert Parker-favorite "Eloge," which he calls "a distinct effort of first-growth quality."
