Deliciously ripe, with plump-textured plum sauce, fig and red currant fruit flavors backed by bright minerality and shades of vanilla, cedar and cocoa. Underlying juiciness rides throughout.

The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape is a strong effort in the vintage. Dark ruby/plum/purple with notes of garrigue, licorice, meat, nori (seaweed sushi wrapper), and some pepper and spice, it is medium-bodied, elegant, and already delicious.
