2006 Broadley Pinot Noir Reserve

($38) Light, bright red. Zesty red berries and baking spices on the nose, with subtle rose and lavender qualities adding complexity. Tangy, sharply focused redcurrant and strawberry flavors display a slightly tart edge and pick up light tannins with air. This is vibrant, bright and stylish, but I wonder about the element of tartness.Author: Josh RaynoldsIssue: May/June 2008Burghound | Rating: 90
The most complex of these '06s with a layered mix of high and medium tone red fruit, earth, spice and forest floor aromas that can also be found on the round, rich, sweet and somewhat more concentrated medium-bodied flavors that offer good depth and punch on the linear, balanced and persistent finish where the only nit is a trace of backend warmth. Worth a look for both value and cellaring potential.Author: Allen MeadowsIssue: 4th Quarter, 2007
Craig and Claudia Broadley observed their 20th vintage with the 2006 harvest. Completely run by four family members (Craig, Claudia, their son, and his wife) the label has shown consistent excellence in its Estate-grown fruit, which is separated and bottled in distinctive offerings. The Wine Spectator rated the 1994 Broadley Pinot Noir Claudia's Choice 97 points. In addition to the estate-grown fruit, Broadley purchases vineyard designate Pinot Noir from the Shea and Bergstrom Vineyards.
