A ripe yet very pinot nose that is at once elegant and pure featuring mostly red berry fruit aromas nuanced by violet hints that continue onto the sweet and quite finely detailed middle weight flavors that possess really lovely texture on the admirably long finish. This is not quite as complex as I believe it will be with a few years of bottle age but it can be enjoyed now with no trouble as it's extremely stylish and satisfying. Recommended and definitely worth a look.

The 2005 Pinot Noir 'Shea Vineyardƒ?_ exhibits spice box, cedar, roses, violets, and wild raspberry. This splendid perfume leads to a wine with very good flavors as well as a compact, firm, tannic finish. If this wine rounds out after the requisite time needed in the cellar, my rating will appear conservative. However, it is a gamble.

Recognized as one of the top producers in the Pacific Northwest, St. Innocent focuses primarily on vineyard-designated Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc rounding out the portfolio. The winery was founded in 1988 by winemaker and president Mark Vlossak with the intent of producing terroir-specific bottlings that "complement and extend the pleasure of a meal." 2007 marked the first vintage for St, Innocent in a new gravity-flow winery, and just a year prior the first vineyard land was purchased, a portion of the Zenith Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills. Total production is 6,800 cases.
