  • Burghound | Rating: 88

A much higher-toned nose of mostly raspberry and fresh red berries merges into round, soft and forward flavors that possess a distinct finishing sweetness that stops short of being cloying but it's enough where I would prefer less of it as it detracts mildly from the otherwise solid complexity. To be sure, this is certainly pretty but it lacks just a bit of overall harmony and depth to be at the next level.

Sleek, trim and well-balanced, showing cedar, herb and savory nutmeg flavors, with a hint of ripe cherry. Veers toward drier fruit flavors, with notes of coffee, sage and tea.

The 2005 Pinot Noir Pratt Vineyard reveals a dark ruby hue along with a big, sweet nose of cherries, underbrush, spice, and subtle oak. Playing it closer to the vest with crisper acids and a more compact mouthfeel, it is a nicely packed, complex Pinot that should open over the next 1-2 years, and drink well for 6-8.
