The aroma of our 2005 Le Chanceux Cabernet Sauvignon wine is earthy with dark roast coffee, tobacco and cedar. The color displays the dark black fruit of the Cabernet which is inky purple. The taste profile is ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, licorice and cassis with some big tannin. This wine would benefit from some age but should be decanted for about an hour if drunk in its youth. A big, bold, serious wine that pairs perfectly with red meats!

This wine is very rich with many layers of flavor. Everything you could want in a cab, and definitely not for the weak!

After planting their vineyard in 2002, proprietors Bob and Susan McNerney have released their first vintage of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, "Le Chanceux." The small estate Belle Filles Vineyard is located in the Coombsville region of the Napa Valley, which has recently been recognized for producing exceptional Cabernets. Le Chanceux is French for "The Lucky One," a reminder to the McNerney's three daughters how very lucky they are to be so blessed in the beautiful Napa Valley. The inaugural release 2005 vintage is a truly boutique wine, with only 200 cases produced.
