An exceptional effort, the inky/purple-hued 2005 Grand-Destieu exhibits plenty of tapenade, black cherry, licorice, and toasty oak characteristics along with medium body, firm tannins, and serious potential as well as purity. The extravagant black raspberry and currant fruit, lavish richness, and long finish are brilliant!

Ripe berry, with a jammy, Port-like character. Medium- to full-bodied, with a soft tannin structure, but slightly cooked fruit on the finish. Best after 2010. 2,000 cases made.

Second year's production of wine by the Ch Teyssier team from a vineyard near Monbousquet - a sort of best selection Teyssier. Very bright crimson. Pretty, sweet, bright fruit. Very gentle and easy. Quite fine but marked acidity and dry tannins on the finish. Very bright. A bit like Cinsault.
