($60) Light, bright gold. Smoky, mineral-dominated aromas of pear, mint, iodine and smoked meat. Fleshy orchard fruit flavors are firmed by juicy acidity and gain weight with air. Smoky minerality lingers on the long, juicy finish. Very complex already, but has the structure to age.

A distinctly leesy and notably ripe nose trimmed in a deft bit of wood toast leads to round, rich and naturally sweet medium-full flavors that possess fine concentration and punch on the mouth coating finish. Solid though not quite at the same level as its two counterparts.

Intense and concentrated, with rich fig, mineral, green pineapple and spice flavors that are a bit raw in texture. Picks up depth and complexity on the finish, with a hint of melon and butterscotch.

The 2005 Chardonnay Chloe comes from the well-known Ritchie Vineyard, the source for some unbelievable Chardonnays in California, and it makes a nice contrast to the Isobel, which comes from the Heintz Vineyard, or the Clare, which comes from the Hyde Vineyard. This is a sensational Chardonnay with great minerality, a light greenish-hued gold color, and a stunning nose of orange blossoms, guava, nectarine, honeysuckle, and lemon oil. The wine displays white currant and floral notes, super full body, and superb structure due to the acidity levels.

good fruit but a bit too much oak for my taste; prefer the non-vineyard designated chardonnay.

Pear extract, candied apricot, nutmeg, clove... reminded me of off-the-shelf cake frosting. Strong acid makes the wine somewhat compelling.
