($55) Fascinating aromas of ginger, curry powder, white pepper and talc. Then fat, ripe and round but classically dry, with enticing citrus and stone flavors of noteworthy purity. Lush and seamless yet light on its feet. Finishes ripe and long, with noteworthy richness, particularly in the context of the year.

Revealing citrus and apple-laced mineral scents, the medium-bodied 2004 Chablis Monts de Milieu displays loads of purity, focus, and nuance in its lively, expressive core of fruit. Spiced apples immersed in citrus juice make up this fine effort's flavor profile. Drink it over the next 4 years.

Light and crisp, some lemon and pear notes. Very smooth and balanced but certainly not the most exciting Chardonnay I've had. Neither very big on Oak or |buttery.| Might be time to drink this.

When he created Verget in 1990, Jean-Marie Guffens applied the very same rules as for his own production. Verget's philosophy can be summed up in one simple sentence: "the best wine comes from the best grapes." This elementary saying is the corner stone of Verget. Thus, whether in Maconnais, Chablis or Cote d'Or, the best vineyards and best terroirs are selected to produce quality wines.
