($70) Good bright, dark red. Serious, almost Pauillac-like aromas of medicinal cherry and iron. Sweet, sappy and backward, with a liqueur-like creaminess of texture and flavors of chocolatey oak and minerals. This rich and deep young wine finishes with excellent focus and balance. Dark ruby with a little evolution at the rim. Big and round and ripe. Quite a sweet blockbuster on the nose. Then lots of ripe, if dusty, tannins on the palate and almost painful acidity. No holds barred on this wine. Sunbaked indeed. Sweet start. Bit of a bruiser but not vapid and not sickly.Author: Jancis Robinson

Cherry, leather and spice aromas. At first somewhat tannic, but smoothed out in the first 30 minutes. Opened up, velvety mouth feel, earthy, spice and some fruit on the palate. Nice wine.Author: Carol H12
