  • Burghound | Rating: 88

This is already very expressive and with notably ripe dark berry fruit notes though with no roasted notes and lead to rich, round and intense medium weight flavors featuring hints of cola and earth, all wrapped in a lightly structured but serious finish. This offers plenty of character and is sufficiently forward that it could be enjoyed now yet has enough potential to reward 1 to 3 years in the cellar.

Owners Ken and Grace Evenstad arrived in Oregon in 1989 to pursue their passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Their winemaker Tony Rynders, who holds a Masters in Enology from UC Davis, crafts impeccably balanced wines primarily from three low-yielding estate properties: Jerusalem Hill, Evenstad and Winery Hill. Syrah is produced under their Rock Block label.
