Mid to pale orange rose (as in the flower) colour. Apparently the proportion of red wine was the highest ever, 27% of the blend. Notably opulent rose-petal nose. Very broadly fruity and deep flavoured with massive palate impact that surely has the power to mend sore throats. Beautiful smooth satin texture. 'We squeezed everything out of this vintage', said Richard Geoffroy, 'we really worked had on it'. This is a great wine that happens to be pink. It's not remotely sweet but is beautifully round and complete. I have suggested it was probably delicious two years ago but in fact it had only just been released.

The fascinatingly copper-colored 2004 Dom PAcrignon RosAc has a beautifully delicate bouquet of red fruits, and indicates a great purity and freshness. Kept on the lees for at least nine years to smooth the tannins the 2004 reveals a weightless power on the palate. It has a deep and concentrated, highly elegant Pinot character (though Chardonnay and Pinot are more or less 50/50), and is full of finesse and freshness. The 2004 is intense and vinous, yet pure, precise and extremely fine. Adorable.

There's power to this vivid rosAc Champagne, harnessed by a silky texture and a sense of finesse. Mineral-driven, with a rich, smoky underpinning, this offers an expansive palate of purAced raspberry and apricot preserves, with hints of candied kumquat, marzipan, graphite and star anise.

  • Dating back to 1743, Moet & Chandon is the largest and most recognized champagne brand and producer in the world. Dom Perignon, its most famous label, took its name from the Benedictine monk whom legend claims was the first to produce the sparkling beverage we know as champagne. The company was founded by Dutchman Claude Moet, who originally shipped wine to Paris to supply the royal court's growing desire for sparkling wine. The company introduced the concept of vintage champagne in the 1840s and began their popular brand "Brut Imperial" in the 1860s. Today Moet & Chandon is a segment of the international luxury goods brand "LVMH," after merging with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and Louis Vuitton in 1987. Moet & Chandon also fathered the sparkling wine venture Domaine Chandon in the Napa Valley.
