Medium red. Subdued aromas of redcurrant, spices, iron, smoke and tobacco. Lush, silky and sweet, with enticing red fruit flavors; seamless and opulent. I find more mid-palate sweetness here than in the Chateau des Ducs. In fact, this is downright plump for 2004. Finishes with very good palate coverage.

This is wonderfully perfumed with a penetrating mix of red, black and violet aromas that precede rich, sweet and intense flavors that offer excellent volume and a beautifully textured mouth feel that combines both excellent balance and ample underlying material. I quite like this as it's a lovely effort period and particularly so for the vintage.
