(relatively little hail here, says Lafarge) Aromatic nose combines cherry, raspberry, menthol, minerals and chocolate. Sweet and savory in the mouth, with nicely integrated acids giving shape to this rather broad wine. Finishes with palate-saturating tannins and very good length.

Interestingly, this is decidedly higher-toned in character with discreet mineral-infused and extremely fresh high-toned raspberry and red pinot fruit flavors that are supple, precise and pure with terrific delineation and relatively forward by the usual standards of this wine. This finishes with just a touch of Pommard punch but no undue hardness or aggressiveness. A lovely effort as well and this will drink well young.
