2004 Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune Les Greves 1er Cru
FRANCE / BURGUNDY / BEAUNE
International Wine Cellar | Rating: 88
Medium red. Slightly diffuse nose dominated by maraschino cherry. Fairly supple and sweet, but with a somewhat rustic leathery flavor. Can't quite match the premier cru for intensity or clarity but boasts good texture for the year and finishes firmly tannic and lively.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: March/April 2006Burghound | Rating: 88
Pure, elegant and seriously complex with notes of iron, crushed leaf and warm earth adding nuance to the pretty red pinot fruit aromas that continue onto the rich, full, sweet and very fresh flavors that are generous, supple, sappy and long. The tannic structure is edgy and firm but fine and this should age over the medium term yet be approachable young.Author: Allen MeadowsIssue: 2nd Quarter, 2007
