  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 90

($50) Medium ruby. Deep, concentrated and exotic bouquet of blackberry, candied plum, vanilla and dark chocolate, with a hint of smoked meat. Sappy and full, showing a lush, spicy dark berry, chocolate and espresso character. Finishes on an exotic note of five-spice powder, with fine-grained tannins.

  • Wine Spectator | Rating: 92

Bright and jazzy, with refreshing acidity to balance focused blueberry, currant and plum flavors, which sail through the nonstop, racy finish. White pepper and hints of smoke make it even more interesting.

only ok - jammy and a little funky. Highly rated by WS, but my bottle didn't have it. Maybe cooked? or perhaps it is in a |dumb| phase?

Located in rural Carlton, Oregon, Ken Wright Cellars is devoted to showcasing the inherent quality of selected vineyard sites. With a clarity and breadth that is unequaled by other varieties, they believe Pinot noir best expresses the character of these sites. Rather than stamping wine with a varietal trademark, they see Pinot noir as a vehicle for conveying the aroma, flavor and texture of the location in which it is grown.
