($60) Dark ruby. Wonderfully fresh nose dominated by bright raspberry and strawberry preserves. Silky and very sweet, with explosive red and dark berry flavors, medium weight, excellent concentration and supple tannins. The fruit/tannin balance is outstanding, and the wine finishes impressively long and juicy.Author: Josh RaynoldsIssue: January/February 2007Wine Advocate | Rating: 93
Possessing a slightly cooler climate feel, with sappy underbrush, spring flowers, mineral and ample licorice-laced berry and kirsch-styled fruit, the 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Chaupin is medium to full-bodied, fresh and lively on the palate, with beautiful purity and elegance. Perfumed, aromatic and long, this 100% Grenache effort blossoms in the glass, has superb mid-palate richness and a great finish. Aged 70% in foudre and 30% in barrels (25% being new), it will continue to evolve gracefully through 2024.Author: Jeb DunnuckWine Spectator | Rating: 93
Pure and driven, with great acidity moving the red licorice, plum and raspberry fruit along, while mineral and hot stone notes flitter underneath. Shows the purity of the vintage wonderfully. 450 cases imported.Author: James Molesworth

Another sweet, silky and sensual wine, but of a bit smaller proportions (when compared to the Saint Prefert). Rich flavors of fig preserve, plum pudding, cinnamon spice and framboise are pure and effortlessly glide over the palate like a gentle, autumn breeze. Very fine and loaded w/ easy charm.Drink Dates: 04-01-2008Author: Brad Coelho
Up until 1973, patriarch and proprietor Aime Sabon sold the entire production of this estate to cooperatives. In 1991, his son Christophe took over the running of the Domaine La Janasse, named after a family camp in Courthezon. The grapes that go into the "Cuvee Chaupin" come from a parcel of vines planted in 1912 and produce the pure, graceful, yet opulent and firmly structured wines for which the domaine has become renowned. Roughly a quarter of these wines are AOC Chateauneuf du Pape.
