($110) Deep, bright ruby-red. Complex nose offers boysenberry, blueberry, cola, tobacco, smoked meat and nutty oak. Sweet and lush, but with good energy to its very ripe flavors of boysenberry, chocolate and sweet oak. This began a bit chunky but showed stronger fruit and greater verve with extended aeration. The firmly tannic, long finish features strong dark berry and oak elements.

The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Jake's Creek Vineyard (about 180 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) possesses notes of sweet vanillin intermixed with black currants, cedar, licorice, and damp earth. Medium-bodied with sweet tannin as well as abundant personality, it can be drunk now and over the next 10-12 years.
