($75-$95) Good bright medium red. Darker aromas of black- and redcurrant. Supple and sweet, with brisk, nicely integrated acidity giving the berry and spice flavors definition and verve. Not especially fleshy but pure, stylish and persistent. Bracing without being green.

Enticing for its sweet fruit, generous profile and complexity. Black cherry, bilberry and mineral notes get a lift from the bright structure. Elegant for Nuits. Fine length.

This too is attractively spicy but with a subtle smoked meat and underbrush character that introduces noticeably earthier flavors that are edgy but sweet on the persistent and energetic finish. Equally good but with a different character.
