($83-$105) Good deep red. Tangy, pure aromas of raspberry, crushed stone and flowers. Intensely flavored, juicy and youthfully tight, with noteworthy precision to the tangy raspberry and stone flavors. Not fleshy but seductively aromatic on the unflagging finish, throwing off suggestions of spices and flowers. Like the Chaignots, this should be laid down for four or five years.

A wonderfully elegant, perfumed and exceptionally pure red pinot fruit nose complements perfectly the textured, fresh, supple and delineated light to medium weight flavors that are beautifully persistent. This is an understated wine of impeccable finesse and while it is not especially concentrated, I love the style as the purity is really impressive and the only nit is a subtle finishing edginess that may round out with a few years of bottle age.
