  • Wine Spectator | Rating: 91

Firm and intense, with a mix of herb, dill, cedar and dried currant flavors that are taut and dusty, ending with a tight focus, layers of complexity and good length. Needs time.

  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 89

Ruby-red. Ripe cherry on the nose, with deeper licorice and espresso notes. Firm and focused, with primary bitter cherry and dark berry skin flavors, moderate weight and chewy tannins on the finish. Give this some time to unwind.

    Issue: May/June 2007
  • Wine Advocate | Rating: 90

The Coach Insignia Cabernet is usually blended with a small amount of Cabernet Franc or Merlot. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia is softer and more up-front than the 2005 with oodles of black and red fruits intermixed with crushed rocks, flowers, and subtle spicy wood. The overall impression is one of elegance yet authoritative flavors. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.

  • The winery was founded in 1973, when Fred and Juelle Fisher purchased 100 acres in the Mayacamas Mountains on the western slope of Spring Mountain. There, they built a winery tucked in among the vines and Douglas Firs. The winery itself is a product of the estate, built from the timber that was cut and milled on-site.

In 1976, the family found another 57 acres on the Silverado Trail in the Napa Valley. The property runs from the Napa River to the Eastern Vaca Range, adjacent to the famed Eisele Vineyard, and is the source of thier Lamb Vineyard Cabernet, Coach Insignia Cabernet and Cameron Bordeaux Blend.
