($100) Ruby-red. Exotic, highly perfumed and suave on the nose, offering a pungent bouquet of mineral-laced red berries, star anise, potpourri and spicecake. This explodes with deeply concentrated, energetic wild strawberry and raspberry liqueur flavors underscored by graphite and licorice root. Remarkably long finish of spicy red fruits.. Amazing stuff.

This is a rather aromatic wine but the aroma was quite sharp. When I meant sharp I mean like when people talk about sharp cheese, the same kind of sharpness (not saying that this wine smell like cheese). The aroma was rather strong and very fragrant with an interesting mix of cherry, chocolate, the open sea and fried calamari. The aroma was also rather floral as well. I think I say open sea and fried calamari because there it smelled a bit like being out in the sea on a boat or by a beach, or eating some fresh calamari, and brought me back to the time we are in Greece, seating by the harbor eating calamari, or on the cruise around Santorini eating calamari. The wine was rather sweet on the palate and was soft and cool at first that then became rather intense. Herbal, mint and cherry covered chocolate liqueur flavor on the palate. Could be a little bit too alcoholic if not for the intensity of the wine, which has a finish of about 45 seconds. I think with a couple more years the alcoholic nature will go away and the wine will really shine.
