($80) Ruby-red. Currant, dark chocolate, bandaid and eucalyptus on the nose. Juicy and flavorful, with a fresh flavor of crunchy currant and more depth than the S.L.V. bottling; here the acids are bright but more harmonious.Finishes with sweet tannins and a leathery nuance.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: January/February 2007Wine Spectator | Rating: 82
Herbal and cedary, with an earthy streak to the dried sage and currant flavors, ending with drying tannins. Short-term cellaring should work to its advantage. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 4,650 cases made.Author: James Laube

Too sweet for me. Fruit and tannins were well balanced. MehDrink Dates: 2008-2012Author: JMC22Self | Rating: 91
Was preparing for the worse. However decanted for 2 hours. Small nose with hints of smoke and leather. Nice color with no signs of age on the rim. Medium body with dark cherry, cassis. Very fine tannins. Nice finish. I was not disappointed as it drank very well. However probably will not improve any further with age.Author: Fabroni
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is one of Napa Valley's most established and respected producers. The winery was founded by Warren Winiarski and his family in 1970 and it is best known for estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons - CASK 23, S.L.V., and FAY. Over the years, the wines have become some of the most highly regarded and collected wines worldwide. They are fashioned to express classic elegance, structure, and ageability, and to reflect the place in which they are grown.
