($65) Medium-deep red. Very ripe aromas of smoked meat and minerals; expressive today owing to its low acidity. Superripe, fleshy and substantial, but showing a porty side. Finishes with dusty, slightly dry tannins and an exotic character. A distinctly hot-year wine. Philippe likes this one better than I do.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: March/April 2006Burghound | Rating: 87
Strong toast notes mix with very ripe, rather musky aromas including a note of prune that complement sweet, supple and very forward flavors that possess good depth and balance, all culminating in a firm, long and mouth coating finish. A delicious if decidedly toasty effort that is a bit too ripe for me.Author: Allen MeadowsIssue: 1st Quarter, 2006
